2. Jangan pernah memberi tahu User ID atau PIN Anda pada orang lain. Bahkan pada staf bank tempat Anda bernaung sekalipun. Sebab, seharusnya pihak bank tidak pernah menanyakan nomor PIN untuk alasan apapun.
3. Jangan mudah percaya jika mendapatkan e-mail yang berisi pemberitahuan bahwa pihak bank akan menutup rekening atau ID Anda jika tidak melakukan konfirmasi ulang dengan data-data pribadi Anda. Pastikan lebih dulu dengan menghubungi bank yang bersangkutan dan jangan me-reply atau mengklik link yang ada pada e-mail tersebut.
4. Jangan terpancing untuk mengikuti anjuran melakukan transfer ke rekening tertentu, dengan tujuan mendapatkan hadiah undian. Sebaiknya cari keterangan lengkap dengan cara langsung menghubungi pihak bank langsung.
5. Sekilas, halaman situs aspal nyaris sama dengan situs resmi milik institusi/lembaga yang resmi. Bahkan tampilannya pun terkadang terlihat kembar. Namun, jika Anda lebih teliti lagi ada perbedaan mendasar, yaitu dari alamat URL ataupun domainnya. Bedakan dengan URL dari alamat situs resmi institusi tersebut, mempunyai subdomain yang sama atau tidak.
6. Pembeda lainnya adalah pada kata depan 'http' dan 'https' di URL. Akhiran 's' pada 'http' tersebut menandakan bahwa situs ini adalah benar-benar telah 'secure', karena dilindungi oleh teknologi enkripsi data berupa Verisign SSL.

Virus Lewat Flashdisk Meningkat Drastis
Hal ini terungkap dari sebuah survei yang digelar Trend Micro di Tokyo, Jepang. Seperti kafemedia kutip dari detik.net, Selasa (11/11/2008), pengguna sebaiknya lebih waspada saat berbagi data melalui peranti yang kini tak lebih besar dari ibu jari.
Berdasarkan survei tersebut, ada 143 infeksi lewat autorun flashdisk pada Agustus 2008. Jumlah ini meningkat jadi 347 di bulan September dan 471 pada bulan berikutnya.
Saat ini penggunaan flashdisk sebagai alat penyimpan data portabel memang populer. Media penyimpanan yang memiliki ukuran kecil dan ringan ini memungkinkan untuk menyimpan, menggandakan, dan memindahkan file dengan mudah.
Trend Micro menandaskan, komputer yang terjangkit virus nantinya dapat menciptakan sebuah file berbahaya, yang kemudian dapat menghapus atau membocorkan data.

Meet the Multiplier
Usually, overclocking is done by increasing the FSB - front side bus - frequency, or by increasing the CPU's frequency multiplier. Here is how this works. If you have a FSB of 400 MHz, and your CPU's clock frequency (speed) is 4 GHz, that means that you have a CPU multiplier of 10. By increasing the multiplier to 12, you will increase the frequency of the CPU to 4,8 GHz. On some computers, setting the multiplier can be done from the BIOS, while on others, you need to manually set the jumpers from the motherboard, so you will need to open the case and use your motherboard manual to locate those jumpers. Keep in mind that you must increase the multiplier one notch at a time and stop if your computer shows any problems.
Play with the FSB
While on some computers, you can adjust the multiplier of the CPU, others have the multiplier locked by factories, in order to prevent overclocking. The second method is to increase the FSB frequency. This method speeds up your CPU, but also, it will make all your computer components work faster as the FSB is the link between all of them and the CPU.
Always exercise caution when calibrating your FSB's clock speed: crashes usually ensue when first tweaking out your FSB, so you may need to experiment with memory and voltage settings in your PC's BIOS to stabilize your system.
Overclocking your PC is a great way to squeeze every bit of performance out of your CPU; after all, you paid for it; why not get what you paid for?

Jakarta - USB flash disk kerap menjadi salah satu media penyebaran virus karena penggunaannya dari satu komputer ke komputer lain. Computerworld yang dikutip detikINET, Kamis (23/10/2008) melansir, setiap file yang akan dicopy atau disimpan ke dalam USB secara otomatis akan discan oleh antivirus engine McAfee. Jika ada file yang terdeteksi bervirus dari PC, maka file tersebut akan ditolak agar tidak menyebar.
Soal masalah data hilang, SanDisk sendiri telah menautkan sistem enkripsi Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 bit pada USB Cruzer-nya.
Kombinasi antivirus dan AES ini diyakini dapat melindungi konsumen dari kehilangan data serta kemungkinan USB terinfeksi malware ketika terhubung ke PC yang terinfeksi virus. Tidak disebutkan berapa harga USB ini.
